Case Study: 2015 Audi Q5
Today’s case study is a 2015 Audi Q5, in Obsidian Black.
This car belongs to a brand-new client, a successful lawyer practicing in Downtown Vancouver.
She found us through one of her colleagues at the law firm, who has used my services in the past and was pleased with the experience.
In fact, this particular client has been on a “referral spree” during the last couple of months, bringing us no less than 9 new clients. (Thank you, John, we’re super grateful for your help!)
Now, the Audi owner lives very close close from her office, so a lot of times she simply walks to work. The Audi doesn’t get used much, and when it does, it’s always for short distances around the home.
As a result, the car has low mileage, and is in good overall condition.
That doesn’t mean it’s not dirty…
It hasn’t been professionally cleaned in quite some time, and it could definitely use our help.
The thing is, a car will get dirty even if barely used (unless it’s stored in a temperature-controlled, tightly-sealed vault, and never leaves it…)
But even when used for short trips around the home, the simple act of your getting in and out of the car, will bring in dust and dirt from the outside.
This almost invisible layer of dirt, that we carry on our clothes and shoes, accumulates over time inside the car.
So, even the least-driven cars still need a thorough cleaning every once in a while.

As you can see, the exterior is in pretty good condition, mostly because of the car not being driven much.
Even with that, there was still a noticeable improvement after the cleaning session was completed.
The interior was a different story…
When you spend time in a car, especially with other family members, dirt gets dragged inside no matter how careful you are.

We always get better results cleaning a higher-end car, such as an Audi, which is mostly because of the quality materials Audi uses in assembling their cars.
Just like anything else in life, with cars you get what you pay for. In this case, you pay more for an Audi than you’d pay for most cars, but you get much better, and more durable finishings.
Quick side note: Many car owners expect an interior in such condition to come out clean with “just a quick vacuum”. This is never the case. Aside from a thorough and extensive vacuuming, the carpets need to be shampooed, otherwise the improvement is minimal at best.
In this particular case, the client followed my advice, and chose the appropriate cleaning package.
A few hours of solid and meticulous cleaning, and my client’s Audi is completely transformed…
The interior is now spotless — dirt and debris gone. It also smells fresh.
The exterior has regained its true colour, and it looks (almost) like a brand new car.
