Case Study: 2018 Tesla Model 3 DualMotor

Today’s case study is a 2018 Tesla Model 3 DualMotor, in Metallic Silver.

This car belongs to a brand-new client, who has found us through a referral from another client of ours.

The owner of the Tesla was looking to sell the car, and he had a new one on order, due to arrive sometimes late December.

This cleaning was somewhat of an “emergency”, because a potential buyer was coming to see the Tesla next day, and he wanted to present it in the best possible condition, in order to get top dollar on the sale.

The owner also told me that, back when the car was new, he managed to stay on top of things, personally cleaning it as often as he could.

But life had gotten in the way, and with a new job, and a move to a different city, cleaning the car himself was no longer possible.

That’s why he turned to us for help.

The Tesla was in a fairly good condition, as the owner uses it only by himself along with a small dog, who rides in the front on his dedicated cushion.

He also doesn’t travel outside the city, and every few weeks, he runs the car through an automated car wash.

The morning of the appointment, we met in front of his apartment building to hand me over the key card and the car, as the building does not have a concierge (who usually handles this stuff on behalf of the car owner).

As you can see, the exterior is in pretty good condition, mostly because of the frequent washing.

Even with that, there was still a noticeable improvement after the cleaning session was completed. (We also waxed the paint, to make shiny and glossy, just like a new car would be.)

The interior was a different story…

When you spend time in a car, especially with other family members, dirt gets dragged inside no matter how careful you are.

We always get better results cleaning a higher-end car, such as an Tesla, which is mostly because of the quality materials Tesla uses in assembling their cars.

Just like anything else in life, with cars you get what you pay for. In this case, you pay more for an Tesla than you’d pay for most cars, but you get much better, and more durable finishings.

Quick side note: Many car owners expect an interior in such condition to come out clean with “just a quick vacuum”. This is never the case. Aside from a thorough and extensive vacuuming, the carpets need to be shampooed, otherwise the improvement is minimal at best.

In this particular case, the client followed my advice, and chose the appropriate cleaning package.

A few hours of solid and meticulous cleaning, and my client’s Tesla Model 3 is completely transformed…

The interior is now spotless — dirt and debris gone. It also smells fresh.

The exterior has regained its true colour, and it looks (almost) like a brand new car.

My client was super happy with the results. This is what she had to say about it, on Google reviews:

Alex, I can’t believe the transformation! I thought my car was already clean, but you showed me otherwise.

Luckily, the other Tesla is already on its way, because I’m now tempted to not sell this one anymore!

If you own an Tesla, and would like to get it properly cleaned and detailed, by someone with experience in the peculiarities of the Tesla brand, you’re in the right place.
