Rolls Royce Ghost cleaned and detailed by Clean My Car
Today’s case study is a 2017 Rolls Royce Ghost, in Belladona Purple.
This Rolls Royce belongs to a new client, who first requested our Information Kit to get acquainted with the company, before deciding to go ahead with a personalized Car Audit.
At that point, the car had been sitting for almost a year without any maintenance cleaning.
Before, the owner would typically take to the drive-through car wash for a quick exterior clean. The downside was that the interior of the car wasn’t getting any attention.
This Ghost is used an all-around family car, but the interior was not in terrible shape overall.
With one exception:
The lambswool floor mats.

These floor mats are designed to be luxuriously comfortable, even if you were standing on them barefoot, with long and soft fibers.
The downside is that the floor mats become extremely effective at trapping and locking in dirt, twigs, and sand.
To get the bulk of the dirt out of the mats, vacuuming alone took us several hours. Also, cleaning has to be gentle, to not ruin the wool, which requires much more care than with a regular synthetic material.

As far as the exterior of the car was concerned, because of sitting parked all throughout winter and spring, there was a green buildup of moss along side doors and trunk lid edges.
This is a meticulous and time-consuming job, because you literally have to clean every square inch of the area by hand, with the help of a small soft brush.

From the distance, despite to green moss buildup, the exterior of the Rolls Royce Ghost looked okay.

Quick side note: Many car owners expect an interior in such condition to come out clean with “just a quick vacuum”. This is never the case. Aside from a thorough and extensive vacuuming, the carpets need to be shampooed, otherwise the improvement is minimal at best.
A few hours of solid and meticulous cleaning, and my client’s Rolls Royce Ghost is back to like-new again…
