Case Study: 2013 Audi TT RS
Today’s case study is a 2013 Audi TT RS, in Corsa Red Metallic.
The car belongs to a new client, who has found us several months ago, while researching online for a car cleaning company in Vancouver.
At the time, he was not yet sure whether or not Clean My Car was the right car cleaning company for him.
And so, he signed up for our mailing list, and has patiently listened to, and read everything we send out to our email subscribers.
He has been reading all the weekly Case Studies, and especially the ones where his brand of choice, Audi, was featured.
He has been also listening to our weekly podcast episodes, on the Confessions Of A Car Cleaner podcast, where we share insider tips and not-so-well-known information for discerning car owners, interested in properly taking care of their vehicles.
And when he felt ready, and confident with with choice, he picked up the phone and called me.
Now, this client is not alone in his approach in finding a car cleaning service for his beloved car.
Because, with so many options out there, how do you know which company is most likely to deliver the results you’re looking for? (which, by the way, happens to be this week’s topic on the Confessions Of A Car Cleaner podcast…)
Also, this client likes to keep his Audi TT RS in top condition, and every two weeks or so, he runs the car through an automated car wash, just to spray off the dirt and road grime.
He also uses the car by himself, most of the time, which means the interior was also in very good condition, without spills or food crumbs.
So, once his mind was made up about which car cleaning company to go with, the rest was pretty straightforward.
We met in the lobby at his building, he handed over his keys and access fob (for elevator and parkade gates), and went back upstairs.
I went down to the parkade, found his reserved parking stall, and carefully drove the Audi to our downtown shop.

As you can see, the exterior is in pretty good condition, mostly because of the frequent washing.
Even with that, there was still a noticeable improvement after the cleaning session was completed. (We also waxed the paint, to make shiny and glossy, just like a new car would be.)
The interior was a different story…
When you spend time in a car, even by yourself only, dirt gets dragged inside no matter how careful you are.

We always get better results cleaning a higher-end car, such as an Audi, which is mostly because of the quality materials Audi uses in assembling their cars.
Just like anything else in life, with cars you get what you pay for. In this case, you pay more for an Audi than you’d pay for most cars, but you get much better, and more durable finishings.
Quick side note: Many car owners expect an interior in such condition to come out clean with “just a quick vacuum”. This is never the case. Aside from a thorough and extensive vacuuming, the carpets need to be shampooed, otherwise the improvement is minimal at best.
In this particular case, the client followed my advice, and chose the appropriate cleaning package.
A few hours of solid and meticulous cleaning, and my client’s Audi TT RS is completely transformed…
The interior is now spotless — dirt and debris gone. It also smells fresh.
The exterior has regained its true colour, and it looks (almost) like a brand new car.
