Case Study: 2016 Jaguar XFS AWD
Today’s case study is a 2016 Jaguar XFS AWD, in Eiger Grey Metallic.
This car belongs to a new client, who came to me referred by a very good friend of mine.
Now, get this…
This gentleman is my friend’s father-in-law.
So, when he got in touch with me to have his car detailed, I felt both grateful and humbled, in the same time.
Here’s why:
Who do all care about the most on this planet?
Our families, right?
When someone refers a close family member to you, you know you must be doing something right.
They are trusting you with the satisfaction and happiness of their own family.
And they believe you’ll rise up to the expectations.
So, it’s not just your reputation on the line — but their as well.
This Jaguar was in pretty good condition, being used mostly for short trips around town, and kept parked indoors the majority of time.
The owner takes good care of it, and he enjoys as much as his busy professional life allows for.
However, the car hadn’t been cleaned in quite a while — and it showed.
This is why our clients, who own cars with sentimental value, have them thoroughly cleaned on a regular basis.

As you can see, the exterior is in pretty good condition, mostly because of frequent automated washing.
Even with that, there was still a noticeable improvement after the cleaning session was completed. (We also waxed the paint, to make it shiny and glossy, just like a new car would be.)
The interior was a different story…
When you spend time in a car, especially with the entire family, dirt gets dragged inside no matter how careful you are.

We always get better results cleaning a higher-end car, such as an Jaguar, which is mostly because of the quality materials Jaguar uses in assembling their cars.
Just like anything else in life, with cars you get what you pay for. In this case, you pay more for an Jaguar you’d pay for most cars, but you get much better, and more durable finishings.
Quick side note: Many car owners expect an interior in such condition to come out clean with “just a quick vacuum”. This is never the case. Aside from a thorough and extensive vacuuming, the carpets need to be shampooed, otherwise the improvement is minimal at best.
In this particular case, the client followed my advice, and chose the appropriate cleaning package.
A few hours of solid and meticulous cleaning, and my client’s Jaguar is completely transformed…
The interior is now spotless — dirt and debris gone. It also smells fresh.
The exterior has regained its true colour, and it looks (almost) like a brand new car.
