Case Study: 2016 Porsche Macan GTS
Today’s case study is a 2016 Porsche Macan GTS, in Carrara White Metallic.
The car belongs to a new client, who has found us several months ago, while researching online for a car cleaning company in Vancouver.
At the time, he was not yet sure whether or not Clean My Car was the right car cleaning company for him.

He has been also listening to our weekly podcast episodes, on the Confessions Of A Car Cleaner podcast, where we share insider tips and not-so-well-known information for discerning car owners, interested in properly taking care of their vehicles.
And when he felt ready, and confident with with choice, he picked up the phone and called me.
Now, this client is not alone in his approach in finding a car cleaning service for his beloved car.
Because, with so many options out there, how do you know which company is most likely to deliver the results you’re looking for? (which, by the way, happens to be this week’s topic on the Confessions Of A Car Cleaner podcast…)
Also, this client likes to keep his Porsche Macan GTS in top condition, and every two weeks or so, he runs the car through an automated car wash, just to spray off the dirt and road grime.
He also uses the car by himself, most of the time, which means the interior was also in very good condition, without spills or food crumbs.
One particular thing the owner asked us to take care of for him were a couple of rock chips on the front bumper, from a road trip to Kelowna last summer.
The Porsche dealer had provided him with a touch-up paint repair kit, and making the rock chips less noticeable was quite simple.
In general, rock chips in the paint are not difficult to take care of — the problem is that most people use way too much touch-up paint, and the repair ends up looking like an oversized pimple.
The key with properly fixing rock chips is a lot of patience (and a steady hand). The process itself is not difficult, but is time consuming.
That is why is recommended to leave it to the professionals.
Clean My Car to the rescue…
As you can see, the exterior is in pretty good condition, mostly because of the frequent washing.
Even with that, there was still a noticeable improvement after the cleaning session was completed. (We also waxed the paint, to make shiny and glossy, just like a new car would be.)
The interior was a different story…
When you spend time in a car, even by yourself only, dirt gets dragged inside no matter how careful you are.

We always get better results cleaning a higher-end car, such as an Porsche, which is mostly because of the quality materials Porsche uses in assembling their cars.
Just like anything else in life, with cars you get what you pay for. In this case, you pay more for an Porsche than you’d pay for most cars, but you get much better, and more durable finishings.
Quick side note: Many car owners expect an interior in such condition to come out clean with “just a quick vacuum”. This is never the case. Aside from a thorough and extensive vacuuming, the carpets need to be shampooed, otherwise the improvement is minimal at best.
In this particular case, the client followed my advice, and chose the appropriate cleaning package.
A few hours of solid and meticulous cleaning, and my client’s Porsche Macan GTS is completely transformed…
The interior is now spotless — dirt and debris gone. It also smells fresh.
The exterior has regained its true colour, and it looks (almost) like a brand new car.
