Volvo XC90 cleaned and detailed by Clean My Car
Today’s case study is a 2018 Volvo XC90, in Obsidian Black Metallic.
This Volvo belongs to a new client, who’s been referred to me by another one of my longtime clients.
The owner had purchased the car earlier in the year, and was looking to get it back in shape after a summer of road trips with the family.
Unlike other Volvo cars I’ve seen before, this one was not in a desperate condition, but it sure needed help.
Volvo has a reputation of making good and safe family cars, usually preferred by parents with young children.
And because the little ones need to be kept busy during long rides, there’s a lot of snacking going on in the back seat.
So, crumbs and food leftovers make up much of the “dirt” in a family car.
What comes with this is A LOT of bacteria.
Bacteria naturally appear to help decompose all the organic matter, including food.
There’s also MOLD.
Mold is a fungus that grows on decaying matter, such as food leftovers, and can be very dangerous to your health.
Mold spores are carried around by air drafts. In an enclosed space, such as a car, you can easily breath it in, leading to respiratory issues.
This client was smart to also choose the Interior Sanitizing option, which has been specifically designed to reduce or even completely eliminate such health-threatening hazards (like mold, bacteria, dust mites, pollen, etc.)

The exterior of this Volvo XC90 is in good condition, because of frequent use of drive-through car washes.

Quick side note: Many car owners expect an interior in such condition to come out clean with “just a quick vacuum”. This is never the case. Aside from a thorough and extensive vacuuming, the carpets need to be shampooed, otherwise the improvement is minimal at best.
A few hours of solid and meticulous cleaning, and my client’s Volvo XC90 is back to like-new again…
